PBC has now designed a bespoke training course over a 5 day period covering all the most popular topics requested by residents during the 1st round of the Rocket Launch Your Business Project (2019 – 2020).

 

The Rocket Launch Your Business – Round 2 is a funded programme by Grenfell Community Leadership Programme, part of Grenfell Recovery Strategy. Participants have to follow the requirements below:

  1. RBKC residents who would like to start their own business and
  2. They are not registered or started trading yet

PBC will organise four 5-Day courses over the coming year (April 2020 – March 2021) that RBKC residents can register for and attend in full. Participants will be able to improve their business, digital and financial skills as well as their confidence in order for them to be ready to start their own business.

Each participant will also be able to access 2 one to one sessions.

 

Proof of address and a £50 refundable deposit required to secure your place. The deposit is refundable only on completion of the 5-day course in full.

PLEASE NOTE: Any resident who was part of the Rocket Launch Your Business Project in 2019 cannot register for this new Rocket Launch Your Business – Round 2.

 

Programme of the 5-day course:

 

DAY ONE

10am – 1pm:  You, your brand and your business
What is the story you are telling yourself and your (potential) customers? Is this the story you want others to tell about you? Exploring your personal brand, your customers and the solution you are offering them – Carole Pyke

(1pm – 2pm Lunch Break)

  • 1pm – 4pm:  Creating your branding visuals – logo, tagline, tone of voice, colours, business name – that connect with your audience. – Carole Pyke

 

DAY TWO:

  • 10am – 11am: Get ahead in business with market research –  Nina Risoli
  • 11am – 1pm: Building your financial muscle (product/service cost, pricing, cashflow, P&L) – Laurie Bernard

  • 2pm – 4pm: Thinking in numbers Accounting is your life saver (business structure, expenses, VAT, paying yourself) – Michael Campbell

DAY THREE

  • 10am – 4pm: How to develop your online presence with a WordPress Website – Julian Holden

(1pm – 2pm Lunch Break)

DAY FOUR

  • 10am – 11:30am: Business Planning Create an effective business plan – Maria Stammers
  • 11:30am – 1pm: Growing your business (active listening, productive questions, setting your goals) – Ranti Williams

(1pm – 2pm Lunch Break)

  • 2pm – 4pm: Useful and free online tools to help you build and manage your business – Julian Holden

DAY FIVE:

  • 10am – 1pm: The Power of Social Media. Which channels work for you, why you need it and how to create compelling content so your audience want to connect and engage with you– Carole Pyke

(1pm – 2pm Lunch Break)

  • 2pm – 4pm: Presenting your business idea to potential sponsors and investors the key elements of an effective presentation – Carole Pyke

Due to demand, places will be offered on a strictly first come, first served basis.  Whilst we will do our best to accommodate all interested residents, a response from you does not guarantee that a place is confirmed.

 

Refund Policy: once confirmed, 7 days notice is required for a part-refund or transfer to another course if available. 15 days for a full refund. No refunds, transfers or date changes will be made within 7 days of the course start date.  A £5 admin fee has been charged and is non-refundable.
